- The album was originally titled Re:wind and was used on the first single's artwork. The name would also be used as a hashtag, though social media's rules on grammar in hashtags made it so it appeared as #re. This likely lead to the album's name to be changed to remove the colon.

With the release of Everything's Coming up Roses, the band did not publicly announce the album, only that more tracks were coming.
With the announcement of a 10 year anniversary headline concert for the album Human, a small bio for the band on the Spectrum Club's website mentioned a release month of December 2025. It would also mention a release window of Summer 2026 for the upcoming eighth album.
With the release of the Dancing With Tears in My Eyes music video, the description would state that the album would release in 2026, contradicting the previously mentioned release window.

The earliest press release for the The Closing tour would give a new release month of February 2026.
The final release date would be announced on 20 February 2026 on the official A Life Divided Facebook alongside the full tracklist. The letters were removed to keep all songs a surprise on release.
