Kaltfront°! is the 9th studio album by Eisbrecher. It was released on 14 March 2025.
Production
On 19 February 2024, an article was posted online from the Augsburg Allgemeine, discussing a different venue for Eisbrecher's annual Adventssingen shows and Alex's knee surgery. However, this article leaked that lifelong Eisbrecher member Noel Pix had departed the band and would no longer be involved in any capacity. The article named his live replacement, Micki Richter, and his studio replacement, Eisbrecher bassist Rupert Keplinger. It is unknown if any of the previous studio work under Noel Pix would carry over into the new album.
With the announcement of a 2024 Tour and dates announced during the Liebe Macht Monstour, it is unknown if the album was planned for 2024 and delayed with the departure of Pix, or if the tour was always intended to not have a release attached. It is worth noting that the Kaltfront Tour shares almost all the same locations as the postponed tour, with some slight changes.
While Alex started collecting thoughts for the next album around the end of 2020, songwriting work didn't begin until January 2024 to December 2024.
Promotion
The first mention of work being done on a new album came during an interview with Sonic Seducer at M'era Luna 2022. Alex stated that work is being done very calmly and slowly as the band didn't want to work on a new album until they had toured with the previous one, which was delayed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic .
Eisbrecher made numerous social media posts teasing the creation of Kaltfront°!, these are listed below:

On 18 December 2023, Eisbrecher posted a video to the official Eisbrecher Instagram . In the video, Alex announces delays to the 2024 Tour and that there will be no Volle Kraft Voraus festival for 2024. However, a new album will be released in Spring 2025, the band just needs some more time.
In an interview in the 02/2024 edition of Sonic Seducer, Alex repeated his claim that a new disc would be hopefully releasing in Spring 2025. Though an article in the Augsburger Allgemeine, the same article that leaked the departure of Noel Pix, suggested that the new album would be released in 2024.
On 19 March 2024, a post was made on the official Eisbrecher Instagram promoting the, then upcoming, 31 May 2024 concert with A Life Divided. The video was recorded in the recording booth for the next album. On the next day, Rupert posted an Instagram story showing that he was in Bayern, Germany, and tagged the band's Instagram. A post from the same location, mentioning album work being done, was later posted to the official Eisbrecher Instagram .
On 5 April 2024, a post on the official Antitype Fanklub explained that Antitype work had been quiet at the time, due to all members being busy with different responsibilities. Rupert noted his Universum25 upcoming second album work, as well as his production on the upcoming Eisbrecher album. This was the first official suggestion that Rupert had taken over producing responsibilities from Noel Pix, aside from its brief mention in the Augsburg Allgemeine article.
On 25 June 2024, an announcement of the Kaltfront Tour was posted to the official Eisbrecher Instagram . This potentially hints that something related to the release could possibly be titled "Kaltfront". New songs were advertised to be played on the tour.
On the 21 July 2024 Rock Antenne radio show broadcast hosted by Alex, it was confirmed that the album title would be Kaltfront, as well as naming a track from the upcoming album written by Jürgen Plangger, "Everything is wunderbar".
In the 10/2024 edition of Sonic Seducer, Alex stated that the other band members would be writing again for the album. This most likely hints to Jürgen as Rupert has written for all albums since Die Hölle muss warten and potentially Micki Richter. Once again, the album title was mentioned as Kaltfront.
On 7 October 2024, in a post to the official Eisbrecher Instagram promoting the 10/2024 Sonic Seducer, the title of the album was repeated. This would be the first official mention on Eisbrecher social media pages.
On 17 November 2024, on his monthly Rock Antenne broadcast, Alex would reveal the release date for the album to be 16 March 2025. He would also announce a single for the following Friday, a cover of Michael Holm's Tränen lügen nicht. The release date would be wrong by 2 days and the single would release on the Thursday.
On 29 November 2024, the band would reveal the artwork for the very first time alongside the album's pre-order links. This would also announce the release date for the first time, 14 March 2025.
At the 20 December 2024 and 21 December 2024 Adventssingen concerts, there was a piece of paper at the merch booth that fans could sign with their e-mail to be sent the next Eisbrecher music video early, on 28 January 2025. Discussions with various band members at the event disputed the date, with some stating that filming was planned on that day and not a release of anything. The planned shoot/release on 28 January did not happen.
On 19 January 2025, Alex would play the song Kaltfront live on Rock Antenna for the very first time. The single and its artwork would be announced 3 days later.
On 3 February 2025, a press release for the album was released that discussed Alex's mental health, the departure of Noel Pix, and the naming of 6 tracks along with some album collaborators. The tracks announced for the album were:
- Auf die Zunge - (Featuring Schattenmann)
- Das neue Normal
- Die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt - (Featuring Sotiria)
- Festung der Einsamkeit
- Waffen Waffen Waffen
- Zeitgeist - (Featuring Joachim Witt)
On 16 February 2025, Alex would play the song Auf die Zunge live on Rock Antenna for the very first time. The Auf die Zunge single would be announced in a comment on the official Eisbrecher Facebook .

On 11 February 2025, all Frank Herzig songs from the album were uploaded to the GEMA music database and would reveal some upcoming song titles. Among the songs listed was a track titled "Tot oder Lebenslänglich". This track was never released or mentioned.
